It’s eclipse season again, and out first one is on September 1, 2016 (on the West Coast) at just after 2 AM PDT. This is a solar eclipse, and it occurs at 9 degrees and 23 minutes Virgo. Eclipses generally affect the masses - events that affect most people in a large area or even worldwide. Since this eclipse occurred in Virgo, this eclipse could affect health issues and organizations that deliver health care and also work related issues. For the United States, homeland security is an issue, and we could be dealing with deceptive and subversive enemies (the Russian computer hacking fits this symbolism). There could be issues related to sudden changes in the airline industry, issues related to foreign nations and cultures, and our own judicial system. The Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus (out of sign) conjunction bodes well with regard to financial issues and the economy. A national leader might have some problems, but has very powerful backing.
As always, this eclipse will affect you personally if you have planets and/or points conjunct or opposite the eclipse point (only a two degree orb). Those planets or points between 7 and 11 degrees of Virgo or Pisces are included. Eclipses are Uranian in nature in that what happens is unexpected, and you might not even be certain as to what is happening for six months. For a solar eclipse, it takes about a year for the event to completely mature. Whether the eclipse is experienced as positive or negative depends on the planet that is conjoined, it’s place in your chart, the condition that the planet is in, and whether and how you might have prepared for what is happening (i.e. free will). If you’d like to know if you have planets or points that fall into this range, let me know. For most people, it will be experienced simply as a New Moon type event. Those are generally felt as the start of something new or a new beginning.
A number of previous eclipses are activated in September as well, which means that this could be a very active and eventful month. We may need to fasten our seat belts.
As the weekend begins, the Moon is transiting the sign of let’s remember to dot our i’s and cross our t’s Virgo. We had a solar eclipse in Virgo yesterday, and are still in the shadow of this eclipse. Work and health issues are prominent, and we get a new start in some area of our lives. The Sun (in Virgo) opposes transiting Neptune (in Pisces) Friday morning. It might be difficult for some to separate fact from fiction. Conspiracy theories seem to abound. Retrograding Mercury (in Virgo) conjoins transiting Jupiter again. We just want to be happy. We continue to think and communicate positively, but it’s probably better not to make any firm important decisions right now as we might not have all the information that we need. The Moon moves into peace loving Libra late in the afternoon on Friday. We are more sociable and want to focus on our relationships. Things could get a bit boring after that until the Moon opposes Uranus later in the afternoon on Sunday. That will likely shake us up a bit, and we’ll want some excitement before the weekend ends.

Flooding has been an enormous problem in the state of Louisiana since last weekend. It’s been the worst in the Baton Rouge area, but it’s pretty much been a problem all over the state. Thousands of homes have been flooded and/or destroyed.
Louisiana was accepted into the Union on April 30, 1812. That places Neptune at just under 13 degrees Sagittarius in the natal chart. So, of course transiting Neptune in Pisces has been in a square aspect to this point in the Louisiana chart. Last weekend (beginning August 12, 2016) as the Moon transited Sagittarius and this point in the chart, the problem began and got worse. Transiting Venus opposed transiting Neptune on Sunday, and then squared Louisiana’s natal Neptune on Monday as the rain continued.
In addition, Pluto is located at just under 19 degrees Pisces in the Louisiana chart. The solar eclipse of March 8, 2016 conjoined this point in Louisiana’s chart. Transiting Mercury (the weather planet) in Virgo opposed this eclipse and Louisiana’s natal Pluto in Pisces on Saturday of that weekend. In the chart of the eclipse, transiting Mercury is conjunct transiting Neptune in Pisces.
As the Moon heads into Pisces over the weekend (August 19, 2016), it looks like Louisiana will get more rain that they do not need.
